The Fundamental Rule 56 (j) provides that the appropriate authority has the absolute right to retire any Government servant by giving him notice of not less than three months in writing or three months’ pay and allowances, in public interest-
(a) If he is in Group ‘A’ or Group ‘B’ post/service and had entered Government service before attaining the age of 35 years and after attained the age of 55 years,
(b) In any other case, after he has attained the age of 55 years.
For the purpose, a Review and Representation Committee shall be constituted to review the performance of the Government servants. The time schedule for undertaking exercise of review of performance of Government servants is as follows:
